EVOLUTION In 2011, the Escola para Crianças Surdas Rio Branco changed its name to Centro de Educação Surdos Rio Branco. Since 1977, the school has worked with the schooling of deaf children and throughout time it began to develop other projects and programs, with the purpose of contributing to the improvement of actions aimed at the reality of the deaf community. With regard to the institutions maintained by the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo – the Colégio Rio Branco, the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco, the Centro Profissionalizante Rio Branco, the Ensino a Distância Rio Branco and partner schools, the Centro de Educação para Surdos Rio Branco has been catering to the need of admitting deaf students and professionals, in addition to creating courses aimed at this public. The Centro de Educação para Surdos Rio Branco has been cooperating with people, companies, and educational and government institutions in the development and adaptation of learning material, organization of events, interpreter training and research support. Centro de Educação para Surdos promoted the deaf culture valorization INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE The II International Conference on Education of the Deaf The event was attended by the City Secretary of Education of - Bilingualism: Practices and Perspectives, promoted by the São Paulo, Alexandre Schneider, who expressed his support for the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo, through the Centro deaf cause and by Ariovaldo Caodaglio, president of Selur, which de Educação para Surdos Rio Branco, and with the support supports the Programa de Aprendizagem Profissional para Surdos of the Sindicato das Empresas de Limpeza Urbana no Estado e Pessoas com Deficiência Física (Professional Learning Program for de São Paulo – Selur (Union of Urban Cleaning Companies of the Deaf and the Physically Challenged), from Cepro. Around Branco Esther Carvalho, by the general director of the Faculdades 500 people participated in the Conference, including teachers, Integradas Rio Branco, Edman Altheman, and by the director of researchers, Libras - Brazilian Sign Language translators and Cepro, Susana Penteado, participated in the conference, reassuring interpreters, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers, the involvement of all these institutions with the cause of full deaf students and their family members. The experts dealt incorporation of deaf people into society. with several themes connected to deaf communication and learning, reporting important experiences in deaf education, enriched by lectures and debates that pointed out alternatives and inspiring paths. The works presented were combined to form the book called “Educação para Surdos - Práticas e Perspectivas II” (“Education for the Deaf - Practices and Perspective II”), launched during the event.
