Annual Report 2011 “Inflation and growth in Brazil” Teachers Onofre Portella and Maria de Lourdes de Abreu, from the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco, spoke to the high school students about the inflation problem in the economic development context. They pointed out the reasons why this phenomenon exists and how to fight it, indicating the importance of controlling inflation goals and its direct relation to the possibility of planning by the government and the private sector, and subsequent growth of Brazil. Working as a Journalist Journalist Maria Lydia Flandoli, former Rio Branco student, gave a lecture to students from the Higienópolis Unit, talking about her profession and her experiences at the library Primo Páscoli Melaré, regarding works done by consulting news articles, reports and opinion pieces. The journalist answered the students’ questions, who were interested in learning about the “backstage” of that profession. Journalist Maria Lydia Flandoli talked to the students Career Day The 8th Career Day, held in partnership with Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco, had the presence of more than 800 students from the 9th to the 12th grades. Participants wandered through the different college classrooms placed at the lecturer’s disposal, who talked about the course they had studied and work opportunities arising from their choices, including fields such as Human and Social, Exact and Biological Sciences. There were also workshops portraying some professional activities, a play on the tension surrounding college entrance exams and vocational test available for those students interested in assessing their skills and abilities, all of this contributing to increase the real perception involved deciding one’s professional life. Students participated in lectures on several professions Simulation of Diplomatic Activity RBMUN JR. Over 120 high school students from both units of the school took part in the I Rio Branco Model United Nations Jr. (RBMUN Jr.). The event is part of the RBMUN project created by the International Relations course of the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco, allowing the school’s students to experience situations typical to diplomatic environments such as the United Nations (UN), playing the role of country representatives in discussions on “Drugs in America” and “Human Rights in North Africa”.
