LECTURES Positive psychology: a powerful competitive differential The lecture “Positive psychology: a powerful competitive differential” was delivered by journalist and master in psychotherapy, Claudemir de Oliveira, who focused on the application of the principles of new science to daily professional life. Addressing students of Social Communication, Design and MBA in Branding of FRB, the lecturer spoke about issues regarding the creation of a personal branding; it is through it that both personal and professional differentials stand out in order to shape a positive personal and professional image, an essential condition for employability. Claudemir de Oliveira Chinese Culture Teachers specialized in Chinese politics and culture, César Augusto Lambert de Azevedo and José Medeiros da Silva, promoted a debate along with students of International Relations about the Political and Cultural System in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Encompassing aspects related to the imperial heritage, the country’s ideology, and describing the structure of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), experts approached the path China has taken in search of a harmonic society. Modeling José Luis Affonso, editor of Hobbynews magazine, specialized in modeling, spoke to students of the Social Communication course about the challenges to produce a segmented vehicle addressed to a very specifi c audience. Outlining the history of modeling in Brazil, still incipient when compared to the United States and Europe, José Luis Affonso emphasized the difficulty of selecting agendas of interest for readers, and how he received the assistance of specialists in the field, and of a permanent staff of writers.
