PRESIDENTS Kalyan BanerjeePRESIDENTS AmemberoftheRotaryClubofVapi,Gujarat,India, Kalyan Banerjee established as the motto for his managementasRotaryInternationalPresident2011- 2012“ReachWithintoEmbraceHumanity”,inspired by Mahatma Gandhi thoughts. This way, he urged members to fight for their dreams, hopes and aspirations,practicingpeace,intheirfamilies,homes, andcomunities,sothattheholehumanityisinvolved. KalyanBanerjee,whoisthe101ºPresidentofRotary International,isachemicalengineer,andstartedhis activitiesin1972,whenheopenedhisphosphorous businessinhishometown,Vapi.Hiscompanyandthe Rotary Clubs contributed to the city to become an industrialcenterinGujaratstate. In Rotary, he has served as a director, Rotary Foundationtrustee,committeeandtaskforcechair, International Assembly group discussion leader, president's representative and district governor and theInternationalPolioPlusCommitteemember. Duringhisvisit,heandhiswifeBinotawerereceived bythepresidentEduardodeBarrosPimentel,andhis wife Maria Thereza, besides a Rotarian retinue. He unveiledhiscommemorativeplateand,afterreceiving a replica, declared: “I'm very proud of this. I'll put it in myoffice,toremindmeofthiswonderfulvisit”. Ray Klinginsmith Rotarian since 1961, Ray Klinginsmith is the president 2010/2011 of Rotary International, with the theme “Building Communities – Bridging Continents”. He believes Rotary promotes union, cooperation and support so that people can live and work in a better world. He has 50 years of experience at Rotary, as a District governor, member of the Rotary International Managing Board, president of the Executive Commission, member of the Board of Trustees and Vice President of The Rotary Foundation. Ray Klinginsmith is also a major donor and he has received a citation for meritorious service andanawardfordistinguishedservices. In their visit to Brazil, Ray Klinginsmith and his wife Judie visited the educational activities conducted by the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo and its maintained entities. The Rotary International president had the opportunity to know the educational program of the Foundation, reinforcing that those actions add value to the important tasks carriedoutbyrotarians. The visitors were welcomed at Granja Vianna Unit by Eduardo de Barros Pimentel – the president of the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo and his wife, Maria Thereza; representatives of several Rotary Club's;directorsandmanagersoftheFoundation. Ray and Judie Klinginsmith were honored with a platethatcelebratedtheirvisittotheInstitution.
