FORMER STUDENTS WIN THE NATIONAL ROUND OF EXPOCOM Radio and TV course alumni from Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco won the Expocom award in the 2014 edition of national Intercom. 62 Annual Report 2014 The work Audiocult: Adaptations of literature classics to radio is a snapshot of the Course Final Paper by Bruna Dentello, Felipe Marques, Isadora Ribeiro, Juliana Barbosa and Flavia Sambini - all former students, under the guidance of teacher Alexandre Henrique. The paper won in the radio soap category. Sudents of educational institutions from all over Brazil took part in this competition. Among the adaptations are literature classics in Portuguese such as “O Auto da Barca do Inferno”, “A Moreninha” and “Iracema”. For Alexandre Henrique, the national award is a reward of the work done. “Winning the southeast round was something very good as the competition was very hard given that the largest number of radio and TV courses are in this region. Being placed first at the national round was phenomenal.” The Intercom is the largest national communication congress, encompassing workshops, roundtable discussions, panels and cultural agenda. It is held annually in dfferent places. The Expocom is awarded to outstanding communication papers in different categories. PUBLIC RELATIONS COURSE STANDS OUT IN ABRP AWARD The Public Relations course was the winner of the ABRP Award 32nd edition Eight papers carried out by alumni were classified and have earned the first place in several categories five times, the award of the Brazilian Association of Public Relations. Teacher Marcos Alexandre Bazeia Fochi, advisor of some of the winning papers, underlined the importance of the award and stressed that the students effort was the key to this victory. “It did not depend only on me, it was an interaction with my students and the College,” he stated. One of the winners was the Experimental Project of Public Relations applied to New Detran- SP, in the category of Experimental Projects – Public Sector. The paper was undertaken as an undegraduate thesis by the students Camila Cavalcante, Daiane Baptist, Isa- bela Bertallo Valli, Jessica Trigo, Luan Lima and Mariana Cardim, under the guidance of teacher Rosemary Jordão. For Rosemary Jordão, the victory highlights the talent of the people in the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco course. “It’s a talent indicator for employers as the Experimental Project development represents a bridge between the academic world and the job market and helps to drive the careers of our graduates forward” said the teacher. Annually, the ABRP awards the best Course Final Papers and the Postgraduate Thesis among the Public Relations courses in Brazil.
