Annual Report 2014 55 SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY A DIFFERENT DAY The initiative mobilized students, teachers and employees of all Rio Branco Institutions in favor of community and social projects. The Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco has organized another edition of the event “A Different Day” in order to promote social responsibility and encourage volunteer work. Along this day, all those involved collected food, clothing, books and toys and gave support to homeless and to needy children and elderly, among other actions promoted. In this activity everyone involved could teach and learn something, help and be helped. Exercising solidarity did not only benefited the chosen institutions, but also ACADEMIC MERIT “A different day” - with the participation of students all the people who made this day possible. Books and toys were collected for children and adolescents aged 0 -17 for the Hospital Municipal Infantil Menino Jesus. Through the “Projeto Brincar” (Play Project), the Day Care Center “Aprocima” received food and toys for its play room. For the National Day of Food Collection, several food items were FACULDADES INTEGRADAS RIO BRANCO GRANT SCHOLARSHIP FOR ACADEMIC MERIT The purpose of the Academic Scholarship program is to acknowledge the performances of the best students. In 2014, the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco awarded about 100 scholarships to the best students of each course, that shall be valid for one semester. Those students had their grades above 8.5 and were present, more than 80% of the class time. The ceremonies were attended by the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo president, Nahid Chicani, FRB chancellor, Eduardo de Barros Pimentel, the general director, Edman Altheman, and the academic director, Alexandre Uehara.
