Nesta noite, se improvisa! (Improv night) Rio Branco’s Theather Group performed the play “Nesta noite, se improvisa!”, a talented demonstration of the art of dealing with the “right here, right now” and the unexpected, represented by improvisation. The play is the result of studies on William Shakespeare’s works, as well as on the use of masks in acting and improvisation techniques. The audience took an active part in the play, suggesting themes and evaluating the actors’ performances, and the play revealed the actors’ full domain of scene construction and character incorporation. Rio Branco Theater group during the presentation of the play “Nesta noite se improvisa!” SPORTS Sports activities, held in and outside of the school, aimed to integrate students from different classes and broaden the relationship with students from other schools, in addition to encouraging healthy sports practice as a way to develop specific physical skills and to learn how to deal with challenges. Intermural Integration Games During the first and second semesters, recreational integration games were held for 6th and 7th grade and 8th and 9th, respectively, of both units of the school. The games took place in the morning at the Granja Vianna Unit, and the teams were coed, made up of students from the Higienópolis and Granja Vianna units, who played football, beach volleyball, handball and basketball; afterwards, there was a joint lunch. Students participated in the Intermural Integration Games Rio Branco Chess Club Participates in an External Tournament The students from the School’s Chess Club participated in an external tournament for the first time, an experience which encouraged even more the practice of the art and science of this sport. The tournament was held at Clube de Xadrez São Paulo (São Paulo Chess Club), with the presence of several schools. Rio Branco was represented by students from the 3rd to the 5th grade.
