Anual Report 2011

Annual Report 2011 GLOBALIZATION In 2011, several factors contributed to increase the visibility and representation of the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo internationally. The visits by Rotary International leaders and Rotarians from several countries have enabled significant changes, improving the activities and projects that benefit the society and renew the purposes of the Rotary ideal of Service by several means, including education. The participation of the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo in the 102nd Rotary International Convention held in New Orleans (USA) was marked by an intense relationship with Rotarians from several countries, especially the Portuguese language nations. The initiative of the Inter- country Committee Brazil-Portugal and Portuguese-speaking Countries (CIP Plop) of filing a memorial at the United Nations Organizations (UNO) requesting the recognition of Portuguese as official language, accounted for one more action to promote the appreciation of the language. The several benchmarking trips to countries of significant educational development contributed to the reflection on possibilities for innovation in management and methods of teaching and learning. The ongoing relationship with Rotarians, educators and institutions in various parts of the world represents an opportunity to bring the message of the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo and know the best practices in education. 24
