FACULDADES INTEGRADAS RIO BRANCO SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Welcoming 2010 freshmen At the beginning of the two academic periods, January and August, 2010 freshmen were welcomed by the general director, Custódio Pereira, and the academic director, Edman Altheman, who spoke warm and encouraging words. A video with the main activities of the college allowed the freshmen to see the various possibilities of performance in their new college life, including social projects related to different study fi elds, through interaction with students, educators and the local community. Students, representing the Atlética XX de Abril and Rotaract Rio Branco, submitted their projects Calouro Sangue Bom Ação (Good Blood Freshmen Action) and invited their new colleagues to join them in their areas of interest. A group of students Competitions and games marked freshmen integration, participating in the international project Students In Free as well as specifi c social actions, such as a visit to Roberto Enterprise (SIFE) – stimulating the exercise of leadership and Borghi Shelter, located in Freguesia do Ó neighborhood, entrepreneurship –presented a project of collecting and and the participation in the campaign Calouro Sangue donating food to charitable entities, participating in the Bom (Good Blood Feshmen), coordinated by the Social actions of the Different Day and developing the Portal of Ação Communication students, through which freshmen Lapa, among others. donated blood to São Camilo Hospital. Ação Lapa Ação Lapa project is an aggregating movement that encourages activities of citizenship and volunteering. It involves the community of Lapa’s municipal subdistrict administration - west region of the city of São Paulo, coordinated by a Management Committee made up by leaders of the region. The project plans the implementation of actions aimed at preserving the environment, Choroblue NGO offers music education to students of Youth Centers education, and support for charitable entities. International Students In Free Enterprise Project The presentation, conducted by the Extension coordinator of the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco. Ana Lindenberg, counted with the participation of the region’s leaderships, representing associations, trade unions, business entities and the press. A group of students participating in the International Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) project submitted the project’s website, developed in conjunction with the staff of Jornal da Gente (People Newspaper).
