PARTNERSHIPS Pittsburgh University Aimed to offer its students the best opportunities to enhance their studies and in order to provide them international education within the graduation and post-graduation environments, the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco established a partnership with Pittsburgh University. The educational agreement was signed on August 13, in a ceremony attended by the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo president, Eduardo de Barros Pimentel, general director of FRB, Custódio Pereira, EMBA Worldwide vice-dean and executive director, and director of the Center for Executive Education, Anne Nemer, and EMBA Program and Center for Executive Education in South America director, Karla Alcides. On that occasion, Anne Nemer highlighted that due to the institutions’ intention of internationalizing education, there is a massive search for innovative models in different areas. “Our goal is to prepare students for a globalized world. I believe that Pittsburgh University provides the students with not only professional development in the area they have chosen but also with the opportunity to receive a rich and differenciated cultural exchange”, she explained. The president of the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo emphasized the privilege of having a partnership with an institution with over 220 years of existence: “Our students will have access to 385 different educational programs, 135 masters and 71 doctoral courses. I’m positive they will take full advantage of this educational opportunity”. For the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco general-director, Pittsburgh University’s mission is very similar to that of FRB, “I believe that this agreement will contribute to the effective international training of both students and executives of our country”. Anne Nemer and Eduardo de Barros Pimentel 2nd Region Labor Regional Court A cooperation agreement was signed between the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco and the 2nd Region Labor Regional Court (TRT), according to which magistrates and offi cers will be able to benefi t from a discount in graduation and post-graduation tuition fees offered by FRB. The agreement represents a privilege for FRB, because of the bond it settles with such a renowned institution as TRT, and the recognition of the excellence of education it delivers. 18 Annual Report 2010
